2025: Your Year to Thrive

A new year is here and it is your outlook and attitude that will bring this year fresh opportunities and joyful moments. What is on your mind this time of year as you ponder what you want to work on, what you may want to change, and what you may want to continue to do that brings you joy and health?
So often we get caught up in the obligatory “resolutions and goal planning” that a new year brings. We find ourselves making outrageous or overly ambitious goals with little to no plan on how to achieve them, simply because that’s what people do this time of year right? But what if we flip that around and instead of creating new goals, and a desire for a “new you”, you simply committed to thriving? To owning your power, your strength, your attributes, AND your flaws. What if you celebrated all that is you right now, and simply committed to ensuring that you love yourself every day, you do something good for yourself and others every day, and you enjoy the moments in every day. This will find you smiling more, worrying less and THRIVING in every way possible. You do not need to rewrite the script in order to live a happy, healthy, productive life.
Most of us who are fortunate to have a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, food at our table and loved ones around us already have exactly what we need to thrive. Although it is okay to want more, and expect more of ourselves and our goals, it is not necessary to achieve it all in order to be happy. The going for it, the effort and the work we put into ourselves and our lives are what can determine our joy. In fact, often when we take a pause to look around and celebrate who we are, what we have and who surrounds us, this inspires us to do more good in the world, put more joy back out there and therefore receive more joy in return! The act of being consciously grateful for what we have in front of us and around us serves to send a message of positive energy to the universe that attracts to us even more positive experiences, opportunities, abundance and happiness.
While this might sound “woo-woo” there are scientific studies that prove these principles. You have an undeniable energy and laws of attraction are real. Think about when you are vibrating high, you see more around you that brings you joy and happiness right? Now think about when you are having a low day - you tend to feel that everything is going wrong, and you are having “one of those days”. This can be explained by how we frame things in our mind, based on the state of our emotions.
My long winded point is this - focus on celebrating YOU, as you are, and enjoy the process of striving for vitality, a healthy body & mind, and a way to bring joy to others. Don’t skip goal setting or lose your drive or ambition to be happier, healthier and more successful than you were yesterday, but remember that anything you achieve is a journey and what matters is not only who you become along the way, but also the stuff that happens along the way!
